Education

I received my bachelor's degree from Harvard in 2010 in History in Literature. Currently, I am a third-year PhD student at Duke.

Experience

I was a director of a tutoring and mentoring program for several years at Harvard, and have continued tutoring since. My experience ranges from formal tutoring programs (such as CollegeBound), to serving as a volunteer tutor for my local church. After graduation, and prior to beginning my PhD, I worked for the US Department of State, serving in Washington DC and in the Middle East. My tutoring experience extends from grade school subjects (including Spanish and Arabic!), to GRE and SAT test-prep, as well college essay help and public speaking.

Hobbies

I am very outdoorsy and enjoy visiting art galleries and museums. I am constantly looking for a new personal challenge: this year's (accomplished!) challenge was to go from being a non-runner to running a half-marathon! In my lifetime, I have traveled to nearly 30 countries and I add new countries to my list every year. I have a sibling six years my junior who has taught me the value of patience and a sense of humor that can survive any circumstance!
