Worked as a mentor/tutor with high school students throughout my time at Duke University and tutored subjects such as algebra, history, English and writing. College Advising/Test Prep I currently work as a college adviser through the College Advising Corps where I specialize in early college prep including test prep for the SAT (transitioning to the new SAT), ACT plus writing, general test taking strategies, conquering test anxiety. I have personal experience with Advanced Placement (AP) Test (5 – AP US Government, 4 – AP English Composition, 5 – AP Statistics). As a college adviser I have mentored over a hundred and fifty students through one-on-one meetings, and small and large group sessions. I have served as a proctor for standardized tests and can offer inside knowledge of the “testing atmosphere” for first time testers in order to reduce anxiety and improve scores. As a product of Duke University, I am a very “results-driven” person. I offer customized tutoring based on each students particular strength/weakness in order to maximize their score. As an added bonus, I can provide advice on college admissions, personal statement writing, resume building, goal setting and class planning. French Experience - I have extensive experience with French language/culture as I lived in France for over a year, first studying abroad in Paris at Sciences Po and then working as an English language assistant in Lille, France.

Hobbies
I love traveling and meeting new people. I am originally from Las Vegas but moved all the way across the country to go to Duke University. Before you ask, "yes" people do live in Las Vegas and "no" they generally do not live in casinos! Coming to the south was a new experience and besides having my blood sugar double due to the extreme availability of sweet tea, it has been a very pleasurable one. They're not kidding about "southern hospitality". Otherwise, I work hard and value hard work. I love learning new things, and helping others learn as well. In my free time I love to swing and salsa dance, read historical fiction, cook delicious food and watch Grey's Anatomy/Scandal.
