I believe in inquiry-based learning and teaching through struggle. I am not a traditional teacher. I use innovative teaching methods and engaging technology to help your child cope with struggle, a skill that is more useful in life than isolated reading and math concepts. I help children understand the process, not obsess over the solution, and I reward kids for perseverance, not simply correct answers. As an added benefit, I help parents and families communicate with teachers and learn the types of questions to ask kids at home even when the session is over. Your child spends all day in sit-and-get instruction at school, so tutoring should be more engaging and it should be fun!
