Hello! My name is Kyle Thomas, and I've been tutoring in public and private environments for over a decade now. My tutoring experience covers a diverse range of high school and college mathematics courses, as well as standardized tests such as the SAT, GRE, and AP exams. In May 2014, I graduated with honors from Appalachian State University with a major in Computational Mathematics and a minor in Computer Science. In 2009, I graduated high school as Valedictorian from Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy. Experience
My tutoring experience has grown from years of tutoring peers and students in high school and college, including 3 years of professional tutoring at Appalachian State University. I scored a 780 on the SAT Math section in high school, and scored a 5/5 on the AP Calculus AB exam. In college, I participated in an undergraduate research group focusing on abstract mathematics, and published an article through the C.U.R.M. program at Brigham Young University, from 2010-2011. I have taken all of the courses listed in my available subjects of tutoring, and tutored many students in each of them. Why do I want to be your tutor? - I've always enjoyed helping others. It's always been a rewarding experience for me as I guide students in understanding each concept, learning new techniques and strategies, and building self-confidence as they work through the material. I ensure that each and every student becomes comfortable with the material at a pace that works for them, as well as teaching the material from different perspectives, so that they can succeed in their studies and exams.
