Education
I received my Bachelor's of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio, in 2007. I further pursued my education and received my M.Ed degree in Reading Education from Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, NC, in 2011.
Experience
I have been teaching for sixteen years. My teaching experience has been in the elementary grades, K-5. I have tutored students in pre K through grade 5, in all areas of reading and writing (oral and written comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, phonics, and phonemic awareness). I love teaching all subjects, especially all aspects of reading. I completed my Master's degree in reading in 2011. I have a lot of experience working with struggling readers from kindergarten to middle school. I recently became certified to teach ESL students, and achieved National Board certification in 2021. I currently work as a reading interventionist. I have availability for summer tutoring, beginning 6/15/24, and ending 8/18/24.

Hobbies
Originally from Ohio, my husband and I moved to North Carolina in 2007. We have a very spunky 6 year old daughter. In my free time I like to play with my daughter, cook, read, hike, travel, play with my dog, watch movies, exercise, and work on home projects.
