Education
Current Ph.D. candidate in Astrophysics at UNC-Chapel Hill. I plan to complete my Masters in Astrophysics by the end of 2020. B.S. in Physics, minor in Mathematics, magna cum laude from High Point University in 2017. I am currently a TA for UNC’s calculus-based introductory physics course and have been for for three semesters. For an additional two semesters I also was a TA for introductory astronomy at UNC, where I was responsible for two sections of 30 students each. I hold regular office hours in which one-on-one and small group instruction is standard, and I find that this is often when students learn the most.
Experience
My math coursework experience includes Calculus 1-3, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, as well as a physics-specific mathematical methods course, and an advanced research methods course with emphasis on statistical methods used in research. For undergraduate physics, I have taken all introductory physics courses, Classical Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Quantum Mechanics, and Statistical Mechanics. I have also taken the more in-depth, graduate-level versions of these four "core" physics courses. In addition, I have taken a graduate-level Particle Physics course and Nuclear Physics course.

Hobbies
Outside of the classroom I spend my time training for triathlons and playing with my dog, Levi. Given that a good amount of my research is done on the computer, I try to spend my free time outside.
