Education

I studied music composition and neuroscience as an undergraduate at NYU and also worked in the neurosurgery research department at NYU Bellevue. I then obtained a master's degree in mathematics from NYU’s Courant Institute, while maintaining a 4.0 graduate GPA. In addition to mathematics, I have also studied biochemistry, microbiology, and physics at the graduate level and am a member of Sigma Pi Sigma, the Physics Honors Society. I am also a member of ISPE, International Society for Philosophical Enquiry, and have published two articles in their journal, Telicom. I recently audited a graduate course in General Relativity at UNC.

Experience

While in graduate school I taught undergraduates in the mathematics department and tutored students in the physics department. I have written lessons on mathematics and physics for a homework help web site and have been tutoring students for mathematics and physics, as well as SAT, GRE, and MCAT preparation for over twenty years. I obtained a GRE score three standard deviations above the mean--in other words in the 99.9th percentile.

I enjoy teaching Brazilian jiu jitsu, playing the piano and the guitar, writing music, stories and novels, and spending time with my wife, our five year old son, and our three cats.
