I'm an experienced literature and writing tutor with a BA in English from Carleton College, an MPhil in Anglo-Irish Literature from Trinity College, Dublin, and PhD graduate work in English Literature from Duke.

Experience

I've tutored and taught writing at the college level, and literature for college and high school students. I'm also experienced workshopping creative writing in all forms. I enjoy helping people get better at reading and appreciating literature, advance in their writing and critical thinking skills, and hone their skills as creative writers. Overall, I want to help students gain confidence about their abilities to engage with language in all forms.

I have an abiding interest in 17th and 18th century theater and mid-20th century mystery novels -- the cheesier the better. When I'm not reading, I enjoy knitting and have even published a few knitting patterns of my own design.
