Elon University- BA English Literature and Education. I discovered my passion for teaching writing and interpretive skills to students as an undergraduate at Elon University, where I served as a T.A. for English and Biology, worked as a consultant and a tutor for the university’s Writing Center, graduated Magna Cum Laude, and was recognized as an honorary member of both the Kappa Delta Pi and Sigma Tau Delta honors societies.
Experience
Over the past 4 years, I have taught Rhetoric and elective English to juniors and seniors, and Creative Writing to both middle and upper school classes. I have directed workshops for high school writing consultants and am the founder and director of the student-led Writing Center where I teach. I currently tutor students and adults in all areas of professional and academic writing, admission essay building, literary analysis, fiction, and creative nonfiction. My one-on-one approach with students typically begins by refining study and organizational skills to maximize academic comprehension and achievement.
