Experience
I've taught college-level writing classes and tutored middle school, high school, and college students in writing and reading for the last 6+ years, working with both native speakers and ESL students on a range of assignments. I currently teach writing courses online for the Academy of Art University. I always try to cater the focus of the lesson to meet the student's individual needs. The following is a list of some issues I can address in our sessions: Content Development Content Organization Grammar (verb tense, sentence fragments, run-on sentences, subject-verb agreement, etc.) Style/Syntax & Diction (choosing appropriate words and organizing them in a clear and effective way) Research & Citation I am available to work with students online via email, Skype, or FaceTime. I am also available to tutor in person in Mt. Vernon and nearby neighborhoods.

Hobbies
While I'm a bit of an introvert, I have always enjoyed connecting with students both in the classroom environment and in the more intimate dynamic of one-to-one tutoring. Because of a chronic health problem, I am currently unable to devote the energy required for teaching in the classroom, unfortunately, but would still love to work with students one on one. A lot of my free time these days is focused on wellness, including practicing yoga and cooking in a health-conscious way. I also devote a lot of time to writing and hanging out with my partner and our two cats.
